From here (my new blog):
There’s a new show coming to your TV, and it’s named Walk The Talk. It’s only one episode old, but I think this show will get popular, because of it’s uniqueness, education, and by far one of the most unique show in Indonesia.
This show will encourage you to speak English, even to Bule (slang term of Indonesian, meaning foreigner (in this case, white foreigner)). The host, Jason Daniels, will go to some spot in Jakarta, trying to talk English to Indonesian people. Sounds funny, isn’t it?
In the first episode, the host wanted to go to History Museum of Jakarta, but somehow he’s always “lost”, so he decided to take many types of transportation, like Ojek (Motorcycle Taxi), Taxi, Busway TransJakarta (a bus system), and anything. During his “adventure”, he’s trying to speak English to many people. And now, what makes me surprised, even I could see an ojek driver speaks English! Now that’s just great.
